In the late 1920s, a group of Alabama students collected enough funds to construct a 115 foot tall bell tower in dedication to the the university president, George Denny.
In the decades since, Denny Chimes has become a beloved part of the Alabama campus. We've featured the structure here with a twentieth century football player wearing the rare white helmet. Brought to you in partnership with College Vault.
